Effective immediately, I have removed all notices of W3C compliance from my web pages. It was a nice ride and all, but, WordPress’s various editors are horrible at maintaining compliance with my site’s theme. I don’t foresee any problems with this change (except for possibly some lost compatibility with screen readers – namely JAWS, probably), but let me know if you see any problems, and I’ll try and investigate (as my time allows).

A few updates/changes to my web site this morning:

• The addition of a “Now Playing” widget (thanks to Brandon Fuller and Josh Blake for their work that makes this possible) — It gets updated every 5 minutes with the latest song I’m listening to in iTunes Media Player (if it’s open, of course).   ;-)
• Removed two of the plugins from the web site: Sociable (the “Social Sharing” icon links below each article) and GD Star Rating (the star/rating links for each of my articles) — I came to realize that these plugins broke W3C-compliance on my various web pages that used their output.
• I also edited the code of a few of my articles to return the home page to W3C compliance (no content was “lost,” however, I did change the hosting provider for the “Zephyr” video to move away from YouTube’s W3C-non-compliant code.
